Each bag is crafted from eco-friendly heavyweight cotton canvas with rolled leather handles, antique brass hardware, and a removable shoulder strap. Personalization is included on both — embroider each one with initials, a name, or a short phrase, up to five characters each, embroidered by our studio partner, on us.

Gale Studio bags are built to be tough, long‑lasting, and beautiful. Made from natural heavyweight canvas, they’re ready for farmers’ markets, beach days, and everyday adventures. With regular use come little spills and spots — here’s how to keep your tote looking its best.
Spot Cleaning Recommended
While some customers have successfully machine‑washed their Gale Studio bag, we recommend spot cleaning to preserve its structure and finish.
Step‑by‑Step Care
- Remove surface dirt: Use a dry, soft‑bristled brush (like an old toothbrush) to gently sweep away loose dirt or sand from the canvas.
- Prepare a cleaning solution: In a bowl, mix warm water with a mild detergent such as gentle body soap, dishwashing liquid, or a small amount of laundry detergent. Stir until bubbles form.
- Scrub the canvas: Dip your brush into the soapy mixture and scrub the soiled areas using small circular motions. It’s okay to saturate the canvas, but try to keep leather handles, trims, and metal hardware as dry as possible. If they do get damp, wipe them immediately — Gale Studio bags use water‑resistant (not waterproof) leather and hardware that handle minimal moisture.
- Rinse carefully: Run a gentle stream of water over the cleaned spot to rinse away soap. A small flow helps avoid soaking the entire bag.
- Dry thoroughly: Blot the damp area with a clean cloth or paper towel, then let the bag air dry completely. Avoid using a dryer, as high heat can damage leather straps, zippers, and adhesives.
